There are many Vegan option in addition to the lamb, shrimp and chicken dishes.  The Bombay Cricket Club is located at 1925 SE Hawthorne Boulevard.

Food and Fashion create the shopping area of Hawthorne Boulevard.  The legendary Powell’s Book Store has a location here ( 3723 SE Hawthorne ).  Powell’s carries over 200,000 books and often has Author Readings and other events.  Powell’s Home and Garden is located just 2 doors down.  This entire shop is dedicated to the Home and Garden categories of books.  If shopping for clothing is your desire than you can check out the many original shops that feature up cycled clothing, hats, home goods and more.

The Richmond Neighborhood Association is very active.  In addition to working on the park, they produce a quarterly newsletter.  They have hosted an annual Art Walk since 2002.  The goal of the Art Walk is to strengthen the art community, increase cultural awareness and to showcase local South East artists.  They also promote annual fall tree planting with the Friends of Trees organization.  Each spring, they host a community wide clean up day.  The 2016 Richmond Clean Up, Rummage Sale and Plant Sale is May 21, 2016.  It will be located at the Central Christian Church, 1844 SE Cesar Chavez Blvd.

The neighborhood lies between Hawthorne Boulevard and Powell Boulevard.  The Eastern boundary runs along SE 50th Ave between Hawthorne and Division.  Between Division and Powell the Eastern boundary is on SE 52nd.  The Northwestern corner if on Hawthorn and 29th Ave.  This continues to SE Grant where the border  jumps to SE 28th Place. The border returns to SE 29th Ave between Division to Powell Boulevard.

The Richmond neighborhood has so much to offer!  A strong neighborhood association, distinctive shops and restaurants and community activities create a strong sense of place.  Investigate all it has to offer. You might feel right at home!
